Domestic Violence is one of the largest problems internationally and the least funded.  These are our most prominent programs for domestic violence survivors and the community!

Local

Sue Rock Originals Everyone - Designers for DV
Leads volunteers in yearly drive to create clothing and home décor items for Safe Horizons, Center Against Domestic Violence, Sanctuary for Families, and Safe Homes Project residences for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Sue Rock Originals Everyone – Donation Drive
Ongoing: We donate new clothing samples and handcrafted items to residences throughout the Tri-State area. Donations have helped over 3,000 women and their families.

Sewing for Survivors
Led seasonal volunteer events which created over 500 quilts for domestic violence residences throughout New York City.

 

Domestic Violence Empowerment Program
Center Against Domestic Violence clients attended a ten month weekly textile arts class in our Brooklyn studio, creating clothing for their personal wardrobe.

International

Batey 106 Project Art Workshop, Dominican Republic
Provided textile resources and programming for the Batey 106 Art Workshop held in the Haitian district of the
Dominican Republic

Casa Ana Sewing Futures, Dominican Republic
Provided the sewing machines and materials which established their sewing program in the Dominican Republic

Sewing for Haiti
Led volunteers in creating over 500 skirts for survivors of the Haitian Hurricane

Girls in Need, Worldwide
Provided fabric and underwear for use in Days for Girls international feminine hygiene support program
